WHAT WE REMOVE AND PREPARE
Phase 1: The "Make Safe" (Day 1 Morning)

Isolate Water: Turn off the mains. Open the outdoor garden tap to drain the lines.

Isolate Electricity: Have a sparky disconnect and "cap off" power to lights, fans, and GPOs.

Cap the Sewage: Once the toilet is removed, plug the 100mm waste pipe with a specialized plastic plug or a rag in a plastic bag to stop sewer gas.
Phase 2: The "Soft" Strip
Removing these first creates space to move around.
1. Accessories: Unscrew towel rails, toilet roll holders, and soap dishes.
2. Mirrors & Shaving Cabinets: If glued, use a long-bladed putty knife to gently slice the adhesive behind.
3. The Vanity: Disconnect the waste trap and flexi-hoses. Score the silicone along the wall. Pull the unit out.
Phase 3: The "Wet Zone" (Bulk Removal)

Shower Screens: Unscrew the wall channels. If it’s a frameless screen.

The Bathtub: * Acrylic: Cut the tiles around the lip, disconnect the waste, and lift.

Tapware: Remove shower heads and mixer handles.

Screw "temporary stop caps" onto the wall spindles so you can turn the house water back on while you finish the demo.
Phase 4: The "Heavy" Demo (The Hard Graft)

Remove Wall Tiles & Sheeting:

Floor Tiles: Use a Jackhammer with a wide spade bit.

The Bedding (Screed): This is the 20mm–50mm thick layer of sand/cement under the floor tiles. We remove this down to the raw concrete slab or timber floor so the new tiler can set the correct fall for drainage.
Phase 5: The "Clean Slate" (Final Polish)

De-nailing: Remove every single nail or staple from the wall studs.

Floor Grinding: Remove any remaining bedding, glue or waterproof membrane left on the floor, use a concrete grinder to get it back to a smooth, porous surface.

Industrial Vacuum the area so it's spotlessly clean.
